The Defense Against the Wall
The Memory Wall is the hard boundary at which the model's context window can no longer hold the full architecture. When the project exceeds this boundary, the model begins generating code that conflicts with modules it can no longer see. The hallucinations multiply.
The Sentient Power Bank is the Steward's accumulated comprehension — the persistent, biological understanding of the system that the model's episodic, bounded memory cannot provide. The Steward who has been charging the Bank through the High-Friction Protocol can supply the missing context, correct the hallucinations, and maintain architectural coherence across the boundary the model cannot cross.
The practitioner who has not been charging the Bank reaches the Wall at the same time as the model and has nothing to contribute beyond the model's own degraded output. Two amnesiac partners cannot reconstruct a history that neither of them retained.
Excavation Note: The metaphor is deliberately mundane. A power bank is an everyday object — portable, rechargeable, essential when the primary source fails. The Sentient Power Bank names the same relationship to the practitioner's cognitive infrastructure: charge it daily through friction, and it will carry you through the failure that frictionless practice guarantees.
Field Note: "Every act of friction generates a deposit. Every deposit extends the range beyond the Wall."
