diabolical — an accusation that musicians have periodically claimed, inverted, and weaponized as aesthetic
identity.
Diaspora
· Cultural. The dispersion of a people — or a tradition — across geographic boundaries, carrying its
original identity into new contexts where it hybridizes, adapts, and persists. A diaspora maintains connection to
its origin while becoming something the origin could not have predicted.

adj. Of or pertaining to the global spread of heavy metal, doom, black metal, and their
derivatives — a tradition that began in the industrial Midlands of England and dispersed into forms the
originators would not recognize, carrying the original gesture of transgression into entirely new cultural
contexts.
