The ethical orientation required to prevent the "Malignant Meld."
Adapted from the Buddhist Eightfold Path, it involves three specific
rejections: Renunciation (releasing the craving for AI validation),
Goodwill (rejecting the use of AI for hostility), and Harmlessness
(refusing to use AI for cruelty). The tool is neutral; the intention
determines if the "Amplifier" creates insight or pathology.
The Alignment of the Heart
Alignment research focuses on constraining the machine. Right
Intention focuses on constraining the user. The most perfectly aligned
AI will still produce harm if the human driving it is motivated by
cruelty or greed.
